The Clock Tower Job was a renovation of a landmark building in downtown Sumner .It was originally constructed to house the Bank of Sumner and the post office. Later it was used for many years as the Sumner Bakery with apartments above. The building sat vacant for several years, then Pam & Steve Rogers purchased the building in late 2002. Meyer Construction, Inc. was selected as General Contractor for the job. The entire building was gutted and rebuilt with the 1st story level housing the Roger's businesses: Lande Real Estate, Clock Tower Antiques, and Midwest Trunk Repair. The back one story area was converted into a garage with an open deck above, and the 2nd story area was made into a 3200 square foot living quarters for Pam & Steve. All exterior and interior doors are 8' tall, many have transoms above. Exterior doors are Triton clad units with three point latch systems. Interior doors and trim is solid oak Timbergate (by Bertch) supplied by Meyer Construction. Cabinetry is Hickory custom built by a local cabinet shop. Ceilings are 13' high in the lower level and 12' high in the upper level. There is a passenger elevator and an open staircase for access to the living quarters. The basement houses most of the mechanicals, storage, and an exercise room.
